But I imagine a torrential downpour would not be a good thing for arts and craft that are, um, just sitting out there. Hope those tent shelters hold.

I've never been to an art fair, let alone one on the scale of the Ann Arbor. When I go to see art, it's within the environment of an art gallery. I can't see myself making the effort to go an art fair. I think I'd easily grow bored or impatient, especially if it's a hot day, since art is generally a passive thing that I have to force myself to concentrate on. Whereas I can tolerate bad conditions at, say, a music festival because music is something that naturally compels my attention - you feel it with your body. But art is a strictly cerebral experience.

My father has just passed also. He was diagnosed with a very rare form of Leukemia, it was quite aggressive. Took us all by surprise. I've been going back and forth to Scottsdale AZ for the last couple of months to help my mother with him. We are all saddened by his passing, but only because we will miss him, we also rejoice for him, because he no longer suffers and he is with my brother now, basking in the glory of Heaven's Light and Love.

We are now in the process of selling "the family home" in Scottsdale and moving my mother here to the mountain. She wants to be near my father (we buried him here next to Stephen, Isaiah, Silezia and Lynne) and doesn't want to live alone. She wants to watch her grandchildren grow up.

although my chair is empty

Death is not a foe to fear
When mortal time is through.
The tears I shed are sadness
at thoughts of leaving you.
