Crazy cold Sunday morning: -27 C ( -16 F). Windchill value -38. But I might still make a run for donuts (and, er, other essential food items).

Woke up this morning and something had happened overnight to make everything really icy. Tonight we are supposed to get freezing fog and freezing drizzle, so everything will be all icy again come morning.

I'd laugh harder, but it's overcast and rainy. Max 20°C. Wearing a jersey. :lol:

MW, there aren't too many things that would convince me to go out in -16 degree weather, but a doughnut run might just do it. :lol:

It got really foggy here overnight -- pea soup type fog. When I got out to the car this mornng, I realized I'd have to squeegee the mist off. So I ran the scraper over the window and -- crrrunch! The mist had actually frozen onto the windows in a fine layer. Anybody else ever seen freezing fog? I think this is a first for me....

Stevie, I wouldn't mind having that kind of view from my window. I wouldn't mind being where you are right now!

The arctic cold continues to grip the Prairies. Over the weekend, Edmonton dropped to a record -46°C -- the actual temperature, without windchill factored in. (That's -50.8°F if I've done the conversion properly). :shock:

It was apparently the coldest spot in North America. Good news is the big chill is expected to lift by the middle of the week.
