Congrats to your mate on landing that contract!

Hope you have a decent time at the casino, duchess. I've been to a casino only once (with others), and I have to say, it was a joyless experience. Mind you, we went during the day, when there weren't many people around. Still, there was very little to do if you weren't there for the gambling, and I wasn't. Actually, the only reason we went was because the casino had a cinema that was putting on a 3D presentation. Which turned out to be fairly lame.

So I hope you get the one with that jazz club. Wouldn't want you to be bored out of your skull as I was. :P

I'm hoping it is the one with the jazz club, too!

I just have no interest in gambling. I am the only person I know who has been to Vegas and not gambled.

(We just spent the night there when driving from south rim Grand Canyon to LA - believe me, there isn't really anywhere else to stop at in that stretch of Nevada.)

What's going on? Not much, still reading A New Earth and have to finish Picoult's My Sister's Keeper. After that back to Sci-Fi or Fantasy, but not sure what I'm reading yet. Music? In a Brazilian mood listening to Rittenour's Festival and the Wild Orchid soundtrack-I must go to Canival!!! Movies? I'm in love with Netflicks!!! Signed up two weeks ago and have watched Ratatoullie, Sunshine, The Bedford Incident and Gone Baby Gone. Next up is Beowulf and then Alvin and the Chipmunks for Elora Grace, but I've heard it's a riot! TV? On death's door waiting for LOST, and NCIS to return. Watching Biggest Loser and Survivor, heaven knows why, with the occasional Mythbusters, various HGTVs, home designers and food stuff.

Going to the theater, for the first time in forever, with our two best friends, our goddaughter, her sis and Elora, on Sunday to see a traveling version of Ain't Misbehavin' -that's a great musical. Tam's off to Girls Night Out tonight and a bachelorette party tomorrow (must be 'Wild Woman Weekend' ah Spring! :P ). Miss Grace just graduated Early Childhood Intervention with flying colors and turns 3 on Earth Day! We run around the park and play olympics fetch with Jojo everyday. Right now she's hard at work with her Dora playset and, sort of, watching Little Bill, which is one of the few toddler shows I approve of, great jazz soundtrack too, bless you Mr. Cosby.

It's a tad cold here but we've been enjoying ungodly weather for over a month straight, everything outside looking great and ready to bloom. The third and last phase of our renovations begins Wednesday, about a three week process where our garage will be made into an office (of where this comp will soon sit), an arched doorway is made between the kitchen and the garage, the refrigerator recessed into the wall and half a wall on the otherside of the kitchen blown out to create a twoway bar from kitchen to dining room while replacing the kitchen windows. THEN! We've having the hardwood floors redone and painting the entire inside of the house. I'm wiped out just by talking about it.

Having a frantically busy weekend. Did many many hours of yard work yesterday. Last fall I had bought hundreds of bulbs, and then never got a chance to plant them when my finger got a nasty infection. I went through the bulbs yesterday, and it turned out most of them survived the winter in the garage - in fact, most of them were sprouting. So we got them all planted yesterday! I do not know if they will live in the long term or not, as they are supposed to be planted in the fall; but I know they probably had no chance at all if I left them in the garage until next fall! They need dirt and water; not a cardboard box with no light, air, water, or dirt in an area with no temperature control.

Today we are rearranging furniture and dusting. A big book case and a huge entertainment center are switching rooms, and an antique glass fronted book case that had belonged to my parents is coming upstairs. So they all needed to be unloaded for the move. My older son is home from university for the weekend, so I have two strong young backs to help me! :sky: :sky: :sky: And I found my ancient copies of 2001 and Rendevous with Rama!

Tonight Calibaby and I will be going to a jazz concert with McFarrin, Correa, and DeJohnette. Should be great! Cannot wait!!!

OK, back to moving furniture now!

And then we are doing a group tackle cleaning of my older son's room, as we have been using it as a general family warehouse while he's been at school; we have to make it livable for him when he gets home in two weeks!

danlo and duchess, you two amaze me! Generally I just take it easy on the weekends, and I'm doing just that today, cuz it's gorgeous out there. Mind you, I don't have family activities or a house to attend to. Nice to hear your renovation is on track to completion, danlo. :)

In south Florida for Passover, and have been shopping and cooking, cooking, cooking.
We'll head back to Gator Town around noon tomorrow.

Ms.Mary...

There was no time for visiting. We arrived around 5:00 PM Friday, and left Monday at noon...

Next time, if we're there more than the Hag days.
