That sounds a lot better than tramping about a heavily wooded park in the cold. :D

Cranked up Beethoven is always a win. 8)

It is not the chill in the air that would bother me as much as the steady heavy rain. I would not want to take my camera outside in that. :( Plus I would want to take pictures of the vibrant autumn foliage glowing in the sunlight, with cool reflections in the stream. Heavy cloud cover is just not condusive to that.

Looking at my internet photo albums, this is the only fall picture I currently have up (this is my younger son way back when he was a baby):

I have boxes of lovely fall foliage pictures, but I guess I just never got around to uploading any of them. :? (Takes forever to upload stuff with this slow dial up connection  ).

My favorite storm picture (summer thunderstorm in Colorado when we went out to the first Elohimfest):

So some storm pictures can work out fine, as long as there are enough breaks in the cloud cover to have a nice contrast between light and darkness. :?

I have been a good girl here. I have been very careful to have every spoiler for FR as hidden as humanly possible. I have read through chapter eight, and am reading it as slowly and carefully as I can manage. It'll be a couple of years until the next one, so why not savor it?

My birthday was a good day today. Got to sleep in. Then I took the long hot bath. It was sunny and warm and beautiful. :cloud: My husband left work a couple of hours early, so the three of us went for about a two mile hike in the woods next to a running stream. :cloud: We then visited a great big Hollywood Video in Ann Arbor that is going out of business, and scooped up a bunch of former rental games and movies for an average of $3 a piece. :) Then we went out to a wonderful dinner here:

which is an unbelievably good deli. :) The day did include candy and flowers as well. :) And lemon birthday cake with vanilla ice cream. :)

And I bought crusty French bread at the deli (they bake their own bread every day) and had them slice it up for me. I am going to make Lady Tam's oven French toast. :D 8)

I just avoid all the TC forums myself.

If it is anything like Runes, spoilers will slowly creep out pretty much everywhere over there like a slow and poisonous tide. I am trying very hard to avoid that here. :) Do not know how well I will be able to manage that, but I am trying my hardest. :)

With so few of us, and especially since it's us, I think we'll fare a lot better than the Watch. :D

I sure hope so. :) I think we are all respectful enough of each other to make a serious attempt not to spoil each other's reads. :) 8)

Glad you had a good day on your birthday, duchess!

Yeah, my formula for enjoying FR in peace: avoiding KW and sites like Amazon, which is notorious for book reviews that contain blatant spoilers.

I do not mind spoiler reviews at Amazon as long as they are labelled as such right at the beginning, and then the person leaves a great big gap between the spoiler notice and where they start typing the actual review so you can get out of there if you do not want to be spoiled...but few reviewers have that sort of consideration. Instead right in the first line "I hated this book! So and So died!" :faint:

And I am glad I made it to the woods yesterday - today and possibly the next two days are supposed to be windy and rainy. Yesterday was perfect. :cloud:

Yeah, but someone in the Galley might reveal what Linden had for dinner at Revelstone.

And I really want to avoid reading twenty differing theories about the dietary practices and table manners of the Haruchai.

:P

(Hope you and Av can join in Duchess's read once you get your hands on FR.)
