I apologize if the answers to my question is somewhere on this forum, but I could not find any info to help me. When posting a reply, there is a checkbox labeled "stay in topic" -- what does this mean? What happens if I don't check it or do check it?

Also, what and/or when do the icons show up on the thread titles, specifically the ones that look like a smiley-face in a wizard hat, and also the "HOT" icon.

thanks!

I'm not sure what the "stay in topic" button does -- I have never tried it.
The little wizard shows up because our board administrator, Danlo, has set it to do so. Each forum has its own little emoticon to match the theme of the forum that shows up with each topic in that forum, and for Le Guin it is a little wizard.
The "hot" shows up for a topic that has reached a certain number of posts. I am not sure which number of posts it is currently set for, but I believe it to be around 20 or 25 posts.
Hope this helps a bit. ******************************************************
