Rumors out of Worldcon in Montreal say that Martin gave some sort of interview, and said he expects the ADWD manuscript to be around 1200 pages when all is said and done (I ran into these rumors over at the ASOIAF board). :shock:

I am not sure how many pages a book can have before it is split by the publsiher?

And he did a reading of a Bran chapter - those who heard it say it was of very high quality, and that it bodes well for the book as a whole.

It as originally going to be three. Then six. Now supposedly seven. But given Martin's slow pace of writing and the way it keeps expanding on him I would not be surprised if there will be more...

Well, George is now talking about wrestling with his epilogue and writing a Tyrion chapter, but he also says the chapters don't end up in exact order, either. So we know he's working on it-we still have no idea of the time line...

And yet he has had plenty of time to travel to Europe to visit the sets for the HBO series...

He had better get writing or they will catch up with him in four seasons/years if they do a novel per season.
