New news from an interview with Esslemont: he is working on a Malazan novel called Stonewielder, to be set two years after Return of the Crimson Guard in Korel also, his first two novels have finally been picked up for US release by Tor So I am adding the new book to the previous list. You never did one for-DG? What's the order in which all the Esslemont books came out, including Stoneweilder? They never wrote a book together did they? |

Night of Knives was first, then Return of the Crimson Guard, and now Stonewielder. And no, I don't think they've written anything together. I think they've sort of divvied up the story instead. |

The weird thing is that Erikson has moved on to different empire in the same world (Lethar) starting with MT and dealt extensively with that along with overseas Mezlan issues while Esslemont has picked up the big doings back home in the Mezlan empire in his books. Danlo, I ran out of steam before I got to DG, but it is my favorite of the series, so will probably get to it someday. If you want to do the chapter summaries, please feel free. |
