I'm making the title of this thread generic. I know we had a thread for the Prisoner of Azkaban, but maybe the 2005 Ezboard crash lost it.

I just saw Goblet of Fire, and I liked it; however, I do not think it was good as PoA. Now, I understand that there were great huge hunks of the book left out of this movie. However, if the main plot of the GoF book was the TriWizard match, then I think it was covered by this movie.

I sorta hope they return to let the Mexican director, Alfonso Cuaron, direct the next one, IMO he did a better job than Mike Newell. taraswizard

I enjoyed the fourth Harry Potter movie. I thought it to be not quite as good as the third, but far better than the first two.

Yes, huge amounts of material were cut from what was in the book, just as with the third movie. But -- and this is where Harry Potter fans always want to spank me -- a lot of what it cut is extraneous to the main plot IMHO.

Yes, the Triwizard Tournament and its aftermath (I don't want to get too spoilery, but I think those who have read the book or seen the movie will understand what I mean by the aftermath) is the main plotline. The book has lots of subplots and stuff about school, but it is all secondary to the main plot (in my eyes anyway).

Couldd someone please explain how they would think GoF is better than PoA? Cause I'm reading that in lots of places.

I like both the book and movie of POA better than GOF, so I am not the person to ask.

About two weeks ago had a conversation with a person regarding their opinion that GoF was better than PoA and their only answer was that so so much was left out of PoA, in the adaptation of film from the book. OK, let's be clear that's not really a valid answer.

Challenge still stands justify that GoF is better movie than PoA. taraswizard
