I love how they have been bringing back old television series (and sometimes brand new television series as soon as their season is over) on dvd.

They're sometimes pretty pricey, so was wondering what other people have added to their collections (ie what is woirth the money).

I have some seasons of MASH, Highlander, and have recently ordered HBO's Band of Brothers miniseries.

Some that I have been considering renting because I was never able to watch the shows in question: Buffy, Sex and the City, Deadwood, and Lost (the first season is due out in a couple of weeks). ******************************************************

I've been working my way through the first season of Highlander. I originally saw the show years ago when they were showing it on the Science Fiction channel late at night, and I could catch about half of each episode when I got home from work. It's good being able to see the entirety of each episode, and helps me understand a little more of what on earth was going on in some of them. Eventually maybe I can work my way through the whole series if I can find the discs. I think I missed some pretty important transitional episodes, where Duncan moved from one city to another, his companions changed, stuff like that.

I've also been working my way through Band of Brothers, but Calibaby enjoys it so much I don't have the heart to watch any of it without him. But we are still up to episode eight of ten. This series is sooooooo well done! ******************************************************

OK, well, you must know I have all seasons of BtVS and AtS and all episodes of Firefly. However, I would like to own Babylon 5, Xfiles, and many of the Star Treks. Forever Knights, of which there are only two seasons of show and they are out on DVD, but I think it totals about 48 total episodes, would be nice to own, too.

The sets are pricey, and sometimes it's hard to me as a consumer to find any justification for the $$'s charged since for long gone series, since the production companies have already made back their money through broadcast fees and multiple syndication fees. taraswizard

I have often thought it would be nice to have some of the Star Treks -- but man oh man, did they ever cost an arm and a leg when I priced them! That was a long time ago, though -- I should check them again. Maybe the price has come down in the intervening years. ******************************************************
