What a sad story, as the last member of one of the oldest cultural groups on Earth passes away, taking her language with her.

I wonder what occupied her thoughts in her last days, knowing that she was the last of her kind, that she had outlived her husband and children.
I can only think she must have experienced a profound loneliness.

I'm glad they at least recorded her voice, but I hope they captured more than just the snippets I heard in the clip.

It may be the inevitable fate of all culture and language.
