I'd always thought that a lot of those laws were outdated statutes that had merely never been repealed. Obviously, this is not entirely the case. Still, it's a common stereotype that americans are rather puritanical when it comes to sex. I was watching some show about a tattoo shop and they actually blur out tattoos that show any nakedness. *shakes head*

Never really understood it myself. Tend to blame it on the real Puritans...the ones who sorta started the country off.

Why aren't the people who live in Alabama marching on their state capital with pitchforks and flaming torches?????? Why aren't they having a Mobile Bay Tea Party where they throw cases of vibrators into the water???????
