Dilillusioned by how the Supreme Court came even closer to OKing execution for child rapists. We have to find a way not to murder anyone, but I say OK while he, it, whatever didn't kill the person he, sheit raped that individual made a choice to join the raped club so give them life in prison and let them experience the hell they created in someone's life.

As a general rule, I do not agree with the death penalty. But I do think that child rape should result in the most serious penalty society can give - life in prison with no parole.

After all, the victim/s must spend a lifetime dealing with the after affects of the crime - why shouldn't the criminal?

This is a hugely emotive issue obviously, but my tuppence worth would go along the lines of trying to understand why such a monstrous act occurred. Is there anything in the history which could help us identify and perhaps stop a future occurrence by a similar criminal? It is such a tremendously bad thing to do, so far outside the scope of what we want from normal people, that I wonder whether we could ever really understand this type of thing though.

I'm ambivalent about the death penalty. I don't think I'd have much problem with it in this case though, but I think the court did the right thing based on the laws as they now stand. But I'd be open to changing them.

Danlo's point though is a good one...the death penalty may be letting these buggers off too easy...
