Oh believe me - the Florida coach is getting roundly roasted and criticized in the national media.

Well, looks like Brandon Spikes decided to suspend himself for the second half of the game.
But, I'll let everyone know I am not pleased with the reasons given...

Ann Arbor is a hotbed of dissent and rumors this week. We're talking volcanically hot, too!!! A lot of people are sick to death of the constant turmoil and trouble within the football program. UM has never had a single NCAA violation in its football program - not a single one - which is miraculous for a program that big and that prestigious and that stuffed with money. Well, not even two full seasons with the new coach and we are already under an investigation. We have not had a losing season in over forty years, and now we are on our second in a row. And the previous coach Lloyd Carr had a pretty good solid winning final season, including a major bowl game victory over Florida. Then most of the better players either went pro or transferred to other schools to get away from the new coach, who has done little other than lie (he seems to be caught in a new one weekly) and slime his way around, and wreck a solid program and its reputation. He cannot adjust to the Big 10 and is still recruiting a bunch of undersized quick little offensive players rather than big hulking athletic defensive players and offensive linemen, which is what the team needs to compete in the Big 10 on a weekly basis. Every week features at least one new scandal or nasty rumor - something which NEVER happened under Bo, Moeller, or Carr. Often it is more than one!

Anyway, it all seems to be coming to a head this week. Numerous rumors from numerous insiders indicate that Rich Rod is going to be fired if Ohio State wins big. Even more rumors indicate that his contract says that with any NCAA violation, no matter how minor, the school can fire him on the spot with no financial penalties or obligations - and that UM is prepared to fire him the second that the allegations against him pan out.

So anyway this is a huge problem for those of us who bleed maize and blue. Many of us (even those few who actually like Rich Rod or who feel sorry for him) cannot wait for him and all of the tumult and turmoil to be gone. Don't let the door hit you butt on the way out of town, Rich! Go ruin someone else's team, and let us get back to being a solid and HONORABLE ETHICAL program. On the other hand, most of us would rather eat rat poison than root for the team from the state to the south. <shudder>

And a big upset when number one Florida goes down to Alabama in the last regular season game of the year.

Very strange week for college coaches. First the whole thing with the Florida coach quitting! But wait! No! He's not! (I sure hope he doesn't end up dropping dead on the field from his defective heart! )

Then the firing of the Texas Tech coach - and if he really was locking up kids with concussions in garden sheds and electrical closets, he deserves to be prosecuted for abuse, on top of being fired!

All of this right before the respective teams play in big bowl games!
