If you lived in the Hyperion universe where would you like to live? Would you like to live on a world of the Hegemony with its interconnectedness to other worlds and high tech wizardry? Would you like to live in the Outback, connected by cultural with the Hegemony, but not physically connected with the other worlds, such as Hyperion? Or would you like to be with the Ousters, with their miracles of genetic engineering and technology? I would be really torn. The old Hegemony worlds, with the river flowing from one world to another, and with houses with rooms in different worlds would be fascinating to visit.

On the other hand, the Ousters, in the grip of evolution, and with their fascinating technologies, would also be a wonderful people/place to experience. ******************************************************
