This is a collection of novellas with a theme of passion and horror. This is what Dan Simmons himself has to say about it: Quote:After publishing a dozen or so books, I know my own work well enough to be aware that the themes of love, death, and the act of dealing with the sense of loss so common to both of these human experiences are almost obsessive topics in my fiction.
