I love the River that flows through all of the different worlds, connected by the Gates. I also love the idea of the houses with all of their rooms in different worlds! All of the different new human species as represented by various Ousters. And the Shrike! my sister, o my sister! There's the cause on 't. Oh rats! U took mine--I def agree about the houses--wild!! Whenever I look at the "window" on the background of Bardo's Collections I think of Silenus' super$ houz. The Fire Trees blew me away 2...there r tons more. There's a few things the AIs did that I'm afraid 2 list as they REALLY might spoil 2 much! Wild fresh original stuff--Simmons is a GREAT writer. Interesting connections an parallels with Simmons and Zindell. Both live in Colorado, both published 1st major work in the same year, both can b VERY poetic when they want 2 b--they are friends, you kno--I'll start a Simmons/Zindell topic soon.

Good idea--this board has a NM taint 2 it--G. R. R. Martin (as u kno), Donaldson and of late Zelazny--With Simmons and Zindell both living right up the street in Boulder. The Sea of Grass, teleport doors, The Time Tombs mezmerize me and scare the livin' out of me--so now we'll have 2 invite all 4! C. S Lewis and Tolkien could have stayed in a summer houses in Taos, like D. H. Lawrence, if they wanted 2.. Williams lives in San Fran so he'll have 2 fly himself in...Go 49ers!

Well, of course your board would have a NM taint. You live in NM and you're the boss! It's only natural. And I've always heard, though don't know if it's true or not, that all sorts of artsy people, whether painters or poets or novelists, flock to NM...something about the light and the natural beauty out there perhaps? my sister, o my sister! The land is sinister and wild, the surises/sunsets r the most beautiful things u've ever seen, gorgeous Mts, high altitude, huge sky and the artists love NM 4 it's incredibly long shadows! We have canyons, hot springs, volcanoes, huge caverns, White Sands (Where Earth II was filmed, btw) and aliens. Almost everything u could desire, xcept an ocean...

I'll give u a bump! And now Danlo looked in that direction, too. He remembered that snowy owls mate in the darkest part of deep winter, and so along with this beautiful white bird perched in a tree a hundred feet away, he turned to face the sea as he watched and waited.

Ahira, Ahira, he called out silently to the sky. Ahira, Ahira
