OK - you've got my attention...where do I start? With Hyperion? or with Hollowman? (Is this the same story that was made into a movie starring Kevin Bacon?)

Let me know Duchess!!!

Well, it depends. If you like action/adventure and religion all mixed together with true love, definately go for the Hyperion /Endymion books. I don't know that movie with Kevin Bacon, so I don't know if it's the same story. I don't get into horror books or movies that much, so I'm not a good judge on that sort of thing. If you like really violent and sexy stuff, you might like the Hardcase book. One of my best buds at work adores the movie Pulp Fiction and says that this book is even better, but again, that sort of movie or book isn't my usual sort. I do know that I will never be able to walk on Goat and Luna Islands at Niagara Falls and look at them quite the same way again after reading Hardcase. It was actually sort of hard to review it, since it's not the sort of book I usually read...I don't know how it stacks up against books in the same genre. my sister, o my sister! There's the cause on 't. Whether we fall by ambition, blood, or lust, Like diamonds we are cut with our own dust -- John Webster's "The Duchess of Malfi", first performed in England in 1614

mmm this sounds great .. I am not into horror either .. and I hate Pulp Fiction .. or Lets Get Shorty .. very black humour .. very!!

sex and violence as a package doesnt do it for me .. and I hate graphic gratuitous violence .. but seperate the two concepts and I can get into an action adventure sci-fi or fantasy .. throw a bit of sex in there and that'll work too!!

so then what is Hyperion about?? health and healing

Well, they're about the Second Coming, only Simmons calls her The Teacher of Man. Lots of action/adventure and mystery, with some true love and some really neat characters thrown in. At least one of the books won the Nebula or Hugo, I think. I will warn you, most people prefer the first two books to the second two, as most of the religious stuff happens in the Enymion books. I really like all four. It's some of his other books, that get a lot more graphic, that I have a bit of trouble with. my sister, o my sister! There's the cause on 't.
