Daeman Uhr is my new Messenger name!--I'm up to where they first talk about acquiring a spaceship. It's soooo cool to be starting another huge Simmons epic. I love this book so far-there's mention of dinosaurs, but where's the piano? Dan has to have his dinosaurs, doesn't he? Whatever gets him off the ground, I guess... |

I never imagined Uhr as plump! Finally got back into reading. No not Ilium, per say, just reading in general. 3 sides coming from Earth to Mars and Jupiter to Mars, only 16 more pages but awesome, initial, setup... |

Wow! EVERYTHING changes after Daeman gets eaten alive! The huge battle at Ilium is awesome! A bleeding God? Descriptions of the weird Voynix (slightly reminiscent of the Shrike) we're already motoring high in second gear and I'm digging it! |

I'm glad you are enjoying the book! Greek mythos and far future high tech scince fiction make for a good combination! |

My favorite character is Daemon - be sure to follow his story carefully. |

I'm up to Savi and Co. finding the bodies on the ring and Aphrodite ready to fry Hockenberry-fascinating stuff-the calibani are wicked! |

Finished-sometimes the book was hard to get through but well worth it for the ending. Yes Daeman seriously transformed himself! Awesome ending, left me hangin' for Olympos . I just got a little confused with the worm holes: was everybody actually on earth all the time? And then they went to Mars through the hole-I thought they were always on Mars-itwas kind of confusing at one point... |
